What I like about this concept is that we get to choose whether we want to print a pattern or not. That way we don't waste ink and paper printing extra patterns we won't use. If that's the way you want to draft your patterns there are several good books and other websites about the subject.
But except for the few designs which are only basically made from rectangles such as a gathered skirt, it is not possible to just "give instructions" for drawing the crutch curve on trousers, or a neckline or a sleeve head.
I agree that perhaps those curves could be the only bit you need to print off and the length of any straight lines could be shown, but don't forget websites of this sort need to cater for people with less skill and experience than you apparently have. You could always do a print preview and decide which pages you need to print and which you could guesstimate using common sense, such as the leg on a pair of trousers.
So many great patterns! And the fact that they're printable makes it so convenient. Thanks, AllFreeSewing! I'm looking for a pattern for fleece mittens. Hello Zune, I have just joined your sewing group and have downloaded and printed my pattern for the kids pants. My question is: Should this pattern be printed in landscape or portrait.
I have printed 8 pages of pattern but page 4 has some of the printed pattern lines missing on my A4 portrait print. Also, are you printing from the internet browser or from Adobe Reader? Printing from the browser preview can cause the pattern to print incorrectly. I highly recommend using Adobe Reader — it is free to download from the Adobe website and you will be able to print accurately.
