If you're using NMM, Nexus was having issues for much of yesterday Originally posted by weedlepete :. Originally posted by Ruin :. Before players just jump right in and start trying to install every mod they see they will want to keep in mind that this process isn't as simple as it may look on the surface level. Unlike modding a game that was bought on Steam or GOG, using a game through Game Pass means that it comes with certain restrictions.

The Xbox app prevents players from editing certain file types, which means that several popular script extenders and visual mods will not work correctly with this version of Fallout 4. There are still quite a few mods out there that will work with Game Pass though. The trick to this is to only download and install mods that don't use script extenders or replace files entirely. Players also may not be able to use any modding tools with the Game Pass versions either unless those tools have been specifically updated for that version of the game.

In order to begin using mods players will first need to go into the Xbox app on their device and go to Fallout 4's home page. Once here they will see that there is a "More" button underneath the "Play" button. This will need to be selected in order to open up a menu where the player can then select a button that says "Enable Mods".

With this done the player will now be able to access the game's folder for modding things. In that same "More" menu that the player selected earlier, they will now see an option for "Open Mods Menu". By selecting this the player will open up the game's mod folder and be able to move mods into it now. Any mod that they wish to use in the game can now be added to this folder in order to activate them.

Players should remember that any mod that isn't as simple as dropping it in this folder probably won't work the way that it is intended. Once this has been done all the player has to do now is set up an account with a trusted modding community site like Nexus Mods and then download their favorite ones.

Keep in mind that mods can have unintended consequences like crashing the game or the player's computer if something goes wrong, so players should keep that in mind before trying to use mods. Better Settlers - Those who have spent an extensive amount of time with Fallout 4 already will probably notice that a lot of the settlers in the game will begin to look very samey as the game reuses assets over again.
